I fucking love DAVE GROHL
Below is Mr. Grohl’s keynote speech at this year’s SXSW festival. It’s full of badassified thoughts and motivation. Watch it! Watch it, NOW!
XOXO,

Upon completion of my last Probability and Statistics test, with my brain nearly fried, I cruised over to Facebook-land for some much-needed, non-thinking activity. A HUGE smile crept up on my face, as I read on of my friend’s posts. She is at the closing of her time in her 30′s and had written a “TO DO” list of items to accomplish before she hit the debilitating age of 40
She stated that she realized she would most likely never complete many of the items before her birthday, so she gave her list a new direction. Instead of trying to accomplish pie-in-the-sky, self-absorbed goals at this time, she is choosing to do 40 random acts of kindness before she blows out her candles on the eve of her birthday next month!!!
She started her KINDNESS COUNTDOWN today in the drive-thru at Starbucks, by buying the lady’s coffee behind her~ I just imagined how shocked and appreciative the unsuspecting recipient of the “FREE” coffee must have been. Ya, I teared-up a bit, I’ll admit…Kindness just warms the hell outta my heart ( It’s my Cancer Moon for any astrology nerds out there).
I love how my friend flipped her “ME ME ME LIST” into something that everyone can benefit from and my thoughts began to wonder~~ I wonder what other random acts she has in store? I wonder how many people her kindness is going to spread to? and how many of those people will continue to spread the kindness they received? Will they show gratitude? Will they shrug it off?
I WONDER!!
<3 and Kindness,
Abby Rae
I was five when this song was made in 1985… My mom was a teacher and bought the record to play for her class when discussing the famine in Ethopia during the 80′s.
I used to play it over and over again and pretend I was there in the studio. Cyndi Lauper’s part was my absolute favorite!
I believe the message stands as strong, if not stronger today. It must start at the core of our own reality, though. We must overcome our difference or indifference in our small corners of the world to make change. World Hunger did not end then, nor will not end today but…
WE CAN MAKE TODAY A BRIGHTER DAY: YOU AND ME!
Love to ALL,

Great Article!! Wish I could pack up and head down there!!!
Peace, Love and Starry Nights,

I’m not gonna lie~ I’ve been a hard sell, in the past ten years , on new music. I’m a child of 90′s with 70′s-raised parents. I’ve always had a W I D E range of musical interests ( Broadway songs, Malt Shop Oldies, Classic Country, GRUNGE, PUNK, a lil heavy metal, and few exceptional rap artists have even dazzled my ears) but the turn of the century was BLAH, to me. It just all sounded like the same ‘ol shit! Nothing new; Nothing inspiring. Lately, I’ve been pretty darn impressed with what is happening in the artful world of music. The artists seem to me to have more depth! More feeling! and I am totally diggin’ it. Here are a few of my favs over the last few years. A little of this and a little of that~~~ Listen! Enjoy!
SLEEPER AGENT~ “LOVE BLOOD”
Groovy, Rockin’ tune!! Their album Celabrasion has gotten weekly play in my house for over a year, now! Love every one of their damn songs
ALABAMA SHAKES- HOLD ON
I literally got chills when I first heard this! So soulful
I made my mommy listen to it and an hour later she had me put it back on because she couldn’t get it out of her head. “I just have to hear it again!” she said.
SILVERSUN PICKUPS- THE PIT
I have been in love with this group since I first hear LAZY EYE. Their albums Carnavas and Swoon were the first Cd’s (YA, I STILL BUY CD’s!!) in over six years~~ Brian is a genius on the guitar, in my humble opinion and Miss Nikki rocks that bass!! Their music transcends me~ its poetry at it’s BEST. Brian kinda reminds of Van Morrison…CATCH AND RELEASE is borderline orgasmic
LANA DEL REY- VIDEO GAMES
Yowsers, this chic can SANG.
CAGE THE ELEPHANT- BACKSTABBIN’ BETTY & LOTUS
I nearly peed in my pants when they played Backstabbin’ Betty live in Saint Louis. It’s not one of their “hits” but it’s in my top 3 of Cage’s! I’ve seen these guys 3 times in the last two years~ Front row in Columbia, Mo! Best flippin’ concert I’ve attended and I’m not a newbie concert-goer! They gots PASSION!!
Cowbell, anyone?!?
“Manifest Destiny is just a fancy way for murder.” I added the entire lyrics to LOTUS in my term paper “Who is Jesus?” at the Baptist College I go to. I couldn’t help, IMMA REBEL. ( I got an “A”)
Have a SOULFUL, ROCKIN’ WEDNESDAY!!!
Abby Rae
Were the ripples you created today positive?
No?
Tomorrow’s another day~
Forgive yourself
Forgive others
and begin again….
Be Peaceful,
Abby Rae

My daughter picked three movies last night for our “Movie Night”. She carefully spent time choosing them from our enormous collection and returned with “three movies I KNOW you love, mom!” I smiled when I saw Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
Yes, I live in fantasy land a majority of the time! As we watched Dustin Hoffman’s portrayal of the quirky, lovable Mr. Magorium, I knew I had to post some of the WONDERFUL insights from the movie~ I hope you enjoy!
“I don’t know why grown-ups don’t believe what they did when they were kids. I mean, aren’t they supposed to be smarter?”
“Your life is an occasion, rise to it.”
“We must face tomorrow, whatever it may hold, with determination, joy, and bravery.”
“Fun and mental is fundamental.”
“There are a million things one might do with a block of wood. But what do you think might happen if someone, just once, believed in it?”
“Turn the page, continue reading, and let the next story begin…”
“We humans can never claim to do nothing, we breath, we pulse, we regenerate.”
“What Mahoney needed was the opportunity to prove to herself that she was something more than she believed.”
Have a MOST WONDERFUL DAY!

Read if you like to giggle about the occasional use of psychedelic drugs or if you just like to giggle abut silly things in general ~ Took me bake to the ’90′s~ the candy aisle at the local gas station never looked so beautiful
