I am You! You are Me!

I usually skip right on through any type of hoarding program on TV but I caught this episode last night and was really captivated by it. Okay, I’ll admit, at first it was British accents that grabbed me, but I quickly began to see how this man’s neighbor’s offered their help at a time when he so desperately needed it.

What was even more interesting, to me, was that if he would have never recognized his own “quagmire”, he probably would have remained in the same labyrinth of newspapers, junk, and complete chaos. His neighbors stated that he basically cut himself off from the community.

I think a lot of us go through some type of this distorted thinking; like we are an island and no one else can possibly know how to swim the lengths to save us. It is when we start to save ourselves that bridges are built.

Happy Cleaning ;)

    I love this… so much.

    • THANK YOU!! I had this light bulb go off years ago after reading this passage from John Donne:

No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.
      Freakin’ Love it!!
